6 Best Practices to Improve Employee Retention for Small Businesses

A well-aligned strong team is a foundation that sets the tone for your business. Retaining your employees is thus crucial for your business growth. Companies like Google and Microsoft consider employee retention as the crucial factor for a successful business.

Reports suggest a company turnover can cost anywhere from 16% to 213% of the lost employee’s salary. Employee loss can hamper your business growth and is a big hindrance when it comes to achieving your long- and short-term business goals.

The departing of employees can affect the speed of the work in any organization. For small businesses, it can create hurdles as the small organization is interdependent. Business experts like Anita Campbell and Barry Moltz agree that losing employees can result in small businesses losing their financial game as hiring and training is an expensive deal.

It can further cause:

  • The delay in the taking off of any significant project.
  • Misalignment in teamwork.
  • Slagged work productivity.
  • The low morale of the other employees.

Business experts remarks that losing an employee can also affect your relationship with regular clients. Business expert Barry says- ‘Imagine the employee you just lost was your client’s trustworthy direct contact.’

Ultimately it can be messy for everyone, and it’s best to avoid unforeseen employee turnover from the start.

Why retaining your employee is essential.

  • It improves the quality of your workplace. An environment where people stay for longer tends to form a community where trust prevails. Your employees will be motivated to contribute effectively.
  •  Morally – Higher retention rates may help society by decreasing the unemployment rates and creating a stable labor market, which improves the lives of individuals.
  • Long-time association within workers helps to collaborate effectively which results in a productive workforce.

Business experts believe that employee retention involves a precise and conscious effort that motivates your employees to stay longer in your firm.

Here are the 6 best practices you can apply to retain your best employees:

1. Offer the right kind of benefits.

Offer The Right Kind Of Benefits

According to the research, offering the right benefits is the best way to retain your employees. Health insurance, paid maternity leave, paid sick leave, dental insurance, and paid-time-off are top benefits you can implement in your organization.

Data suggests that offering benefits to your current employees costs cheaper than hiring and spending on training new employees.

Jeremy, the founder of Travel Light, says – “If you are planning to retain your qualified candidates, then providing benefits to them is worth it in the long run.”

When it comes to providing benefits, offering the right salary tops the list. Data shows – around 67% of employees leave their job due to low wages.

Another group of studies conducted by Forbes says, ‘Right benefits encourage employees to perform better and increase productivity.’

If your employees are getting good remuneration, it gives them a sense of acknowledgment. A good Salary can often become the motivating factor for your employees: however, a professional motivated solely by money is not a welcoming idea.

2. Create a strong organizational culture

Strong Organizational Culture

Low-turnover agencies have a more positive or constructive organizational culture and climate than high-turnover agencies.

Research shows that if an organization successfully establishes a good culture, it reflects its smooth operation. To build a good strategy for your business, you need to access your organization’s culture. It is important to self-access policies and programs you are trying to implement that support your vision for your business.

If every employee shares the same motivation and believes in your organization’s core purpose, it aligns the whole organization in a strong team force. Hiring practices, acknowledgment programs, rewards and recognition programs, and performance management programs are effective ways to establish a solid organizational culture.

3. Support the well-being of your employees in your organization

Well-Being Of Your Employees In Your Organization

Research shows that around 55% of working professionals feel lonely, 77% feel stressed, and 87% feel uncertain. This can directly affect the quality of work and working atmosphere. A stressed person can never bring the best of themselves at what they do.

Business Experts suggest that taking care of your employees is equally crucial to running a thriving business. Your organization leaders should take the initiative to promote self-care and mental health awareness for your workers.

You can provide wellness programs and policies to give emotional confidence to your peers and a sense of feeling that they matter. You can also introduce self-care strategies and mental health-focused learning to support your employees.

Practice a few of them:

  • Educate your staff about the effect of stress and provide opportunities to address issues related to mental health.
  • Introduce self-care awareness programs at your organization.
  • Encourage and develop formal strategies for peer support.
  • Introduce a fair culture that promotes a safe environment, appropriate leave policies, adequate benefits, necessary supervision, and supportive resources for your staff.

Companies like Mindvalley encourage emotional support by introducing activities like Love-week in their company. Vishen, the company founder, says- “Take care of your employees, and your company will itself be taken care of.”

Netflix has even gone far in announcing their policy of unlimited vacation time – often called “flex time off” or FTO. Reports suggest that the idea was to support their employees so that they can decide how much off-time they need.

You don’t have to follow the same necessarily, but you can always decide the best way to show your support for your employees.

4. Create better ways for staff engagement

Staff Engagement Ideas

Staff engagement is of utmost importance to retain your best employees. Creating staff engagement will help them feel competent and motivated to bring their best at work. A better relationship is formed between employees and employers.

It is also essential because staff engagement will let them recognize their voice in the organization and instill the confidence to take their role with responsibility.

Here are three important ways to create better staff engagement:

  • Communicate early and frequently. Your organization should be transparent, proactive, and timely to include your employees in vital conversation as valued voices.
  •  Communicate initiatives and processes clearly. Communications should explicitly outline employee expectations, project timelines, and dedicated resources that impact staff-related initiatives.
  •   Maintain a professional culture. A collaborative, professional culture that promotes mutual respect among all employees should permeate the working environment.

If your business is a newly opened one, of course, you will need time to focus on such precise planning for staff engagement. However, prioritizing timely conversations and building a positive, healthy environment where your employees feel listened to will help you move ahead with confidence.

Giving feedback to your employees is yet another essential factor in creating effective engagement with your staff. You can even introduce reward programs like monetary benefits and career growth programs to acknowledge their contributions. It definitely will result in retaining your best employees.

5. Implement professional development opportunities

Implement Professional Development Opportunities

Reports suggest that company that offers professional development opportunities has 34% higher retention rate than companies who don’t. Such companies achieve to record less turnover rate.

Business leaders suggest that introducing professional development opportunities ensures your employees’ growth in their roles and performance, leading to better retention. Numerous research done on the subject shows it helps to:

  • Inspire your employees to take action to improve their skills and talents
  • It creates an opportunity to nurture positive relationships among employees.
  • Competition is replaced by collaboration.
  • Employees strive to perform better.

You can create training programs and mentorship programs for your staff to help them upskill their talents. Pairing your junior employee with senior employees will also help in better ways. The former learn effectively, whereas the senior employee will learn leadership skills during the period.

Google even goes extreme by offering and encouraging employees to spend one hour daily from their working time on their dream projects.

Vishen Lakhiani, the author and founder of Mindvalley, in his book – ‘The Code of The Extraordinary Mind’ mentions how he has introduced a culture in his company where every new employee is asked to write their dream projects and put them out on the notice board. Vishen, along with other teammates, then try their best to help new employees to achieve their dream projects. No wonder they have the highest employee retention rates and are the fastest ever-growing company in the world.

You, too, can introduce programs and training to help your employees bring their A-game.

6. Create a supportive environment for your employees

6 Best Practices To Improve Employee Retention For Small Businesses

Creating a supportive environment for your employees can effectively improve employee retention in your organization. Experts suggest that it will even bring better results than offering financial incentives.

There are various ways you can create a supportive environment for your employees:

  • Freedom for innovative thinking
  • Better working conditions
  • Including staffs’ opinions in important decisions
  • Introducing leadership opportunities
  • Encouraging transparent communication
  • Supervisory arrangements for employees to access workloads

Your organization must access the working conditions of your staff. Encourage conversations that can highlight the issues that they are facing.

Include your best teams on important political matters of your organization. It not only allows them to come upfront and share responsibility but gives them a sense of belongingness.

The Takeaway

Employee turnover inflicts severe harm to organizations, both financially and psychologically. In the United States, employee retention has been lower since 1991. Researchers have suggested influencing motivational variables, such as training, challenging and exciting work, introducing an excellent working culture, and offering good remunerations, are essential factors in retention.

4 Reasons Content Marketing is Crucial for Small Businesses

Seth Godin, the Marketing Guru, says – “Content marketing is the only marketing that’s left.” He further adds – Educating your customers and giving them the resources to believe you are the new way of marketing.

Content marketing is an absolute necessity for small businesses as it delivers the highest ROI for every dollar spent. As content marketer Julia Mccoy says – “Content marketing compounds over time. It’s a long-term investment that will continue working for you long after the content is published.”

Content marketing is also crucial for small businesses because smaller companies often don’t have the marketing resources that larger firms do.

Content Marketing; An Affordable Way to Boost Your Sales

In today’s time, the buyer’s persona has changed. Their search starts at Google, and buyers are already bombarded with advertisements. Data shows that around 67% of people every month subscribe to adblockers.

Content marketing is an innovative way that makes your way easier to reach your customers despite such hurdles and limitations. It effectively helps small businesses with a minimum budget build trust and authority with their customers and establishes brand loyalty.

That’s because, unlike paid advertising, content marketing provides the audience with something of value – which goes a long way toward building trust with any customer or prospect.

Data shows blogging solely can fetch 56% of website traffic, and 70% of people get introduced to a new business via an article. Other forms of content marketing like Email and Social Media Posts can effectively create better engagement with your customers.

A new study shows that Businesses like Tripoto and Beardo have managed to boost their growth through content marketing after starting small. Small businesses can build their audience base and innovatively showcase their products and services through various content marketing firms. It offers you a more extensive scope to reach your target audience effectively.

Four Key Reasons Content Marketing is Essential for Your Childcare Business:

1. Content marketing helps you to build trust and authority

Content Marketing Services By Teknol

Content marketing helps you to educate your potential customers and build trust and authority. But how do you do that?

Marketing expert Seth Godin says – “Find out what issues your customers are facing and try to solve them. If you watch closely enough, there are hundreds of ways to do that.”

The following four steps will help you to build your authority through content marketing:

  • Provide crucial information regarding childcare to your customers
  • Create case studies and go deeper into your research
  • Collaborate with other industry experts in your field
  • Share your success stories

Case studies on the subject show that small businesses have leveraged their growth by 70% percent with content marketing. They have successfully managed to grow their audience through weekly podcasts and establish authority among their audience.

Marketing Expert, Rand Fishkin,  says- “ If people trust you, then it is just a matter of time that they turn to your loyal customers.”

If you put valuable content out there and educate your customers, it will establish your business as an authority in that particular field and build trust. It will also create curiosity among your customers, and they will pay heed to – what you want to offer. If you provide an exotic trail, you might land with a buyer.

2. It is cost-effective compared to traditional marketing.

Cost Effective Content Marketing

Content Marketer Julia Mccoy says – “Content marketing is a long-term investment.”You don’t have to invest continuously in updating your content or strategies, unlike traditional marketing. Moreover, it costs 67% less than traditional marketing and generates 3x more leads than conventional marketing.

Small businesses have limited marketing resources compared to more prominent firms. In contrast, content marketing is less expensive and has better growth prospects. It allows you to grow your business without burning your pockets deep down.

Here are few reasons why content marketing is cost-effective:

  • Releasing content through social media channels are affordable
  • Quality informative content can perform better than the ad campaigns
  • Updating your content cost requires no re-investment

Social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter can be powerful tools to communicate effectively with your customers and create better engagements. Uploading pictures and videos costs you nothing.

Research shows that around 87% of marketers have successfully gained traffic websites by spending less than 6hours per week on social media. The other most significant advantage of content marketing is you don’t have to re-invest to update your content. In contrast, paid campaigns need you to re-invest after a specific period. However, one hit piece of content can fetch you sales that are not time-bound.

3. Better ROI with effective content marketing

Better Roi With Content Marketing

Content marketing not only precedes traditional marketing tactics by a landslide, but it also pulls in significantly more website visitors and leads. The consistent production of content boosts website traffic, and as traffic increases, so do conversions. A good conversion strategy will bring in high-quality leads.

Marketing expert Rand Fishkin says – “Be consistent with your content production and distribute them effectively on the correct platforms. This will result in better lead generation and conversions”.

Julia of The Content Hacker says – “ 62% of all online searches start with Google. Well, that record certainly involves audiences of all kinds.

If your potential clients are looking for you on the internet, you can undoubtedly retain them by creating quality content. Your website is The first point of interaction with your potential clients.

You can retain them if your website content gives them important and valuable content. You can even convert them if you create better engagement. It is through blogs or white papers or through infographics you can publish your content.

Impeccable content can convert a visitor to a buyer. It is a constant flow of content that nurtures prospects through each step.

4. Great content increases your brand’s reach.

Content Marketing For Brand Building

In today’s time, where everyone is on social media and 3.5 billion searches are happening every day on Google, people spend more time on social media. Create compelling content that can give your customers value for time and money.

Share your content on social media channels. Statistics show that 97% of people are active social media users and spend 20% online reading content. Almost 70% are reading about brands that interest them. Your prospective customers are looking for valuable content that might help them or educate them on their journey.

If a customer shares your content, there are chances ten new people will get introduced to your brand. It effectively increases your brand’s reach.

The Takeaway

Content Marketing is the most effective and proven marketing tactic that has the potential to upgrade your business. The world’s top marketers, including Seth Godin and Gary Vaynerchuk, confirm- content marketing is a necessity for small businesses. It is an affordable yet powerful way to increase your website traffic, generate leads, and boost sales.

How Childcare Owners can recognize signs of mental health issues in themselves

For many Childcare Owners, 2020 was likely the year stress and anxiety played a significant role in performance.

Some signs of mental health issues include feelings of fatigue, irritability, worry, isolation or rumination (continuously thinking about the same negative thoughts). Sudden changes in mood, sleep problems, substance abuse, changes in weight or appetite or withdrawing from normal life activities are also signs that should call your attention. If you experience any of the above consistently beyond two weeks, it may be time to proactively seek support.

Key components of a healthy routine for mental well-being

Self-care habits are absolutely vital for the CHILDCARE OWNER’s mental health and overall well-being. Take any of the following practices for a fresh daily wellness routine.

1. Exercise

This does not necessarily mean a gym membership — feel good about doing a simple thirty-minute run or walk each day.

Childcare Marketing Services

2. Mindfulness

Staying focused on the present moment is the first step of a mindfulness practice. Become aware of your reactions to stressful situations, and don’t fall prey to rumination and daydreaming. Mind wandering? Take three to five deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth.

3. Visualization

During the morning run/walk, visualize the plan for your day; see and feel the outcomes you want.

Childcare Marketing Services

4. Meditation

Meditation is a powerful tool to start the day. All you need is 10 minutes in a quiet, uninterrupted environment. Use guided meditation apps such as breethe and calm to get started.

5. Nutrition

Inventory your eating habits. A cup of coffee for breakfast, a burrito for lunch, and then a 16-ounce ribeye for dinner does not form a nutritious diet. Consume three balanced and timely meals a day, balancing carbs, sugar and proteins.

6. Replenish

Replace those numerous cups of coffee with water. After all, as humans, we are 90% water. Replenishment is necessary to keep optimum energy levels.

Childcare Marketing Services

7. Gratitude

Studies have shown expressing gratitude for those you love and admire is a powerful activity to trigger positive neurotransmitters.

8. Self-Compassion

Don’t be so hard on yourself; you’re doing the best you can. Do something for yourself daily.

9. Relationships

Don’t suffer fools. Spend time with those who stimulate, challenge and inspire you. And tell your partner you love them.

Childcare Marketing Services

10. Journal

Writing down your thoughts and emotions can help you process difficult events, release yourself from thinking traps, and increase your self-awareness. By simply putting your thoughts onto paper, you are externalizing emotions — that alone may help you to feel lighter. I’d suggest utilizing a tool such as the 5 -Second Journal as it incorporates both mental well-being and daily leadership business routines.

Childcare Marketing Services

My favorite practices include gratitude, exercise and meditation. Discover which of the above you will enjoy most.

It is a truism that the mental wellness of the organization is a reflection of the mental wellness of the CHILDCARE OWNER. Take the time to nurture a mentally stronger you, and see the positive effects of that effort trickle out to your leadership team and your employees.

  • CMO Survey 2021 asked respondents to indicate a measure of the contribution of digital marketing to the overall company performance on a scale of 1 to 7. 3. Expert Team Available On-Demand

Fractional Cmo Services

The Fractional CMO role is one senior person who acts as the main CMO. However, if this person is associated with an agency, then he or she has access to various niche marketing experts. SEO specialists, video choreographers, UI/UX designers, content writers, and researchers can easily be pulled in based on the need of the hour.

4. Agile Working Style

Fractional Cmo Services

Because the Fractional CMO is an outsider to the organization, he or she is free from many of the policies and protocols for streamlining the efficient working of multiple departments and functions within an organization.

5. Acts as a Coach to your Internal Team

Fractional Cmo Services

In a lean organization, most people are preoccupied with their targets and goals and do not have the time or inclination to focus on grooming, inspiring, and mentoring new hires. The Fractional CMO can step in here and play this part by interacting with the in-house marketing team to help improve their overall productivity.

If the above benefits are just what you have been looking for, then look no further. At Teknol, we provide fractional CMO services to get your marketing activities on track and deliver results. Get in touch with us at hello@teknol.xyz

Growth Hacking Made Simple – The 12 Steps Guide

Growth Hacking is a relatively new term that has grown exponentially in popularity over the last 5 years. Many people ask, “So what exactly does a Growth Hacker do”? In simple terms, when you consult a growth hacker, you are looking for a way to take your organization to a stage of phenomenal growth. The growth hacker will work with you to systematically explore new opportunities, right from customer acquisition to retention along with product fitment to optimization.

Even though it may sound unconventional, Growth Hacking is anything but a random arrangement of events happening that leave you high and dry at the end of the day. Growth hacking is, in fact, a process-oriented technique that leverages the entire spectrum of the marketing funnel. Yes, there are phases of experimentation and exploration, but that is all done in the spirit of producing growth and new possibilities that may not get considered by applying traditional marketing techniques.

Here is a 12 step growth hacking guide with a description of the activities that need to be done at each step. It is based on the AARRR funnel of growth hacking that has been developed by Dave McClure,  a strong proponent of the growth hacking mindset and an enthusiastic founder of the tech incubator/accelerator 500 Startups.

The Sunrise Phase

Growth Hacking Guide

Step 1: Framework Readiness

The first step is to understand the AARRR framework and apply it as-is or customize it to suit your business model. The five stages of the AARRR framework are:

  • Acquisition
  • Activation
  • Retention
  • Revenue
  • Referrals

Step 2: Product – Market Fit

The main steps of growth hacking (4-8) usually get done in a rapid fast-paced manner. The product market fitment needs to take place prior so that there is sufficient confidence amongst the team that it is the right product that is getting marketed. Taking user feedback is a great way to determine if they are satisfied with the quality of the product. Such sessions also give an idea of the current retention numbers so that data is available for making the right decisions.

Step 3: Management Buy In

A green signal from the management is one of the prerequisites in the pursuit of new growth. You can then consider new possibilities with an open mind, without thinking of how to convince the team internal to the organization. With an internal buy-in, the focus on the external activities can be increased multifold, leading to a substantial increase in results.

Step 4: Tools & Technologies

There is a whole range of automation tools available for your growth hacking exercises, starting from free ones to the more expensive subscription-based models. Some great examples are:

  • Zapier – for marketing automation
  • GrowthBar – SEO Chrome Extension
  • Hotjar – Track user behavior through heatmaps

The High Noon Phase

Growth Hacking Guide

Step 5: Find the Sweet Spot

You must stay content in the knowledge that your product will not be able to please ALL customers. The sweet spot is that section of customers that like your product. When you successfully identify this segment, you are at your Eureka! point in the journey. Use the 80:20 rule that says that 80% of your profit typically comes from 20% of the Customers. Knowing the characteristics, behaviors, and likes of this 20% and then accordingly focusing on your growth hacking techniques will bring in a positive flow of energy, ideas, and activities that can take your product and startup to the next level of recognition.

Step 6: Acquisition

There must already be some activities of customer acquisition taking place in the organization. The trick here is to find out what works best for the product and then find more techniques in that direction. Commonly used methods are compelling taglines, free demos, referral incentives & gamification.

Step 7: Activation

Activation is about giving an incredible first experience to users when they come in direct contact with the product. Think product tour for new users, video tutorials, streamlined user flows, and personalized onboarding, live chat, and online communities for support.

Step 8: Retention

Traditional marketing budgets allocate more to the initial acquisition and activation activities without thinking much about retention. However, growth hackers often increase retention budgets because customer loyalty is a good thing to have. Use retention techniques like differential pricing, discount rewards & excellent customer care for ensuring that your customers stick around even though there may be similar products vying for their attention.

The Siesta Phase

Growth Hacking Guide

Step 9: Revenue Generation

Growth hackers usually perform several iterations of idea generation, test, measure & repeat till the time they find new revenue streams that are sustainable for a significant duration of time. Fortunately, there a quite a few tools out there that make this a fun thing to do. Here are a few examples:

  • Masskom – Gamification sales tool
  • Amplitude – Provides insights on buying behaviors
  • Snip.ly  – Increases traffic towards the website by adding a call to action along with shared links

Step 10: Referrals

  • You can add a ‘Refer your friends’ link when users are sufficiently engaged with the product rather than at the beginning of the experience.
  • Invite referrals that will help in Testing or Evaluating the product
  • Take a survey asking if they would like to refer, and then send out a referral link only to those who answered Yes on the survey.

Step 11: Scale

By this step, you have collected sufficient growth hacking intelligence on what works and what doesn’t. You also have a great product with user feedback, data analytics, acquisition, referrals, and retention strategies in place for you to be able to take the scale step. In this step, you find out all the techniques that have resulted in a positive ROI and use them to accelerate growth, by giving the highest priority to the speed of execution over anything else.

Step 12: Locking It All In

Now that the results are starting to come in, successful growth hackers take time to let it all sink in. This is the time where you look back and clean the clutter. Since some steps of the process get done in a rapid execution model, chances are that activities like artifact organization and documentation may have got skipped. This is where you can put it all together and move into a more stable mode of execution from hereon.

Announcement: Please do this before the upcoming Google update

Google recently announced that the Google Page Experience update would be delayed.

However, as you are aware, you do not want to wait for Google to release an algorithm update before addressing the issues, as you may lose traffic if something goes wrong.

Step 1: Read this…

Get to know more about the Google Page Experience update.

Even though they are focusing on mobile, you can eventually expect them to ensure that websites are providing the best experience to searchers whether they are using a mobile, desktop, or even tablet device.

So we would recommend that you again, read more about Page Experience and follow the steps.

Step #2: Fix these errors in the Search Console

If you haven’t, go and create a Google Search Console account.

Once you create your account, it may take some time for data to populate.

And once data populates, you’ll see a report that looks something like this:

Google Algorithm Update

In the left-hand navigation, I want you to click on “Core Web Vitals”.

Google Algorithm Update

And then you will get an overview of any URLs on your site that have issues on both

Google Algorithm Update

Click on “open report” next to the mobile heading.

Google Algorithm Update

You’ll want to fix all of the errors.

You’ll also want to do the same for desktop errors and fix them as well.

Google Algorithm Update

Now if you don’t know what words like “LCP” or “CLS” mean, no worries. You can get an explanation from Google themself, so that way you can fix them.

Step #3: Don’t forget to run a site audit

Once you put in your URL and click “Analyze Website” it may take a few minutes to load.

But once it does, you’ll see an overview of your site that looks like this:

Google Algorithm Update

You’ll want to fix your “critical errors” which are towards the top of the report, as well as go over your “top SEO issues”  which are at the bottom of your report.

Make sure you try and fix each and every single one, SEO has changed over the years where it’s turned into a game of every little thing really adds up.

Don`t wait for Google to roll out their update to see what happens to your website.

Unlike most updates, Google is giving you a chance to fix your issues BEFORE they roll out the algorithm.

So, do yourself a favor and fix them.

This way you won’t have to worry about your traffic declining.

Are you ready for the update?

PS: if you want Teknol to help you with your SEO and handle dealing with Google’s ongoing algorithm changes, go here.

How Your Website Can Be An Effective Lead Generation Tool

With all the digital marketing tools available to businesses today, it’s easy to get overwhelmed in the effort to choose the right solution for lead generation. But, as with any undertaking, it’s always best to start by building a solid foundation.

In this case, we’re talking about your website. Ready to dive in? Let’s go!

How to Turn Your Website Into a Lead Generation Machine

Lead generation today is not as easy as putting a few well-placed CTAs on your home page (although those are important too).

Here are a few actionable tips you can use today to pump up your website’s lead generation results.

  1. Improve Your User Experience. Your website’s design is ground zero for all interactions. If the user experience is cumbersome, if your page load time is slow or users can’t find what they are looking for immediately, you risk losing them quickly. In best practice, your website should feature:
    • Clean design
    • Simplified top navigation
    • Responsive design (mobile-friendly)
    • Lots of useful, relevant content
  1. Stockpile Awesome Content. No lead generation effort is complete without a solid content strategy. No matter what industry you operate in, if you’re selling something, your potential customers appreciate authority. Ask yourself what problems they are trying to solve. Create content around those needs and offer it in the form of blogs, white papers, tip sheets, checklists, and ebooks. Some content, like blogs, you will make available for free. Others, like ebooks and white papers, can be offered in exchange for their email or contact information.
  1. Promote Your Content. There are many ways to promote a piece of content you have created, some organic, some paid. Promoting your content extends the value of your efforts and helps you reach a wider audience. For example, say you post a blog on your website. Promote it on your social channels, such as Facebook and LinkedIn, to drive traffic back to your website and extend your reach. Ultimately, you are looking to create chatter around the topic (and therefore about your brand) through engagement such as comments, likes, and shares.Other ways you can promote your content include:
    • Sponsored or boosted social posts
    • Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising
    • Retargeting/remarketing
    • Guest posts on other websites
  1. Simplify Your Contact Forms. When your site visitors take the leap to offer their contact info, the last thing you want to do is make the process difficult. Your contact forms should be simple and cleanly designed and contain as few fields as possible. Place these forms alongside downloadable content, strategically placed on your homepage, contact page, and accompanying any blog post.
  2. Optimize Your Landing Pages. Optimized landing pages are an essential component in the effort to generate leads. Landing pages are the destination when a prospective customer clicks on your ad. A well-designed landing page sticks to the point, minimizes distractions, and provides clear next-steps for the user to take. As always, the easier and more intuitive you make it, the more effective your efforts will be.

Final Thoughts

Lead generation is a daily effort, but if you focus on methods that get results, your funnel will always be full. Reach out today to learn more about how we can help you improve lead generation through website optimization.

A lot of websites are relying heavily on traffic generated from social media platforms. Why? Because this is the trend, and it is one of the easiest ways to reach people faster. But, what many online businesses do not understand is that people are getting smarter and smarter each day, such that when they find relevant solutions to what they are looking for, it translates to positive user experience. When you look at social media, sure it generates heavy traffic, but, are you targeting the relevant audience? No. It will promote and promote to all without really ensuring it gets to the clients you are going after. You end up spending much money when you can be saving much of it when you know what Organic Search can do for your business.

Organic Search Still Targets Relevant Keywords

When a user turns to google to search for products or services, he/she is expecting the right answer to his/her queries. This is where Organic Search becomes useful. Users visit your website because the search engine’s organic results directed them to your site. This happens when users are looking for specific information, and the keywords they used have a very specific intent. Through organic search, your website has been identified to contain a possible solution to the user’s intent.

The traffic generated from Organic Search is targeted; therefore, if you can provide a solution to a specific problem or answer their question sufficiently, you are more likely to get good feedback. You can make a client out of them if you are the business they are looking for.

Organic Search is After Relevant Content

Organic Search can get you ahead only if you make sure you have relevant content. You have to take the time to study what people are looking for in relation to the service or product you are providing. Supporting your paid marketing with Organic Search will surely boost you forward and ahead of your competitors.

Organic Search is very Useful for Startups.

If you are into the initial stage of operating your business, study the general population’s problem so you can find a solution to that problem. While many are investing heavily in paid advertisement when starting a business, you also have to double time engaging with your clients to really know what they need. Understanding your market allows you to provide the right solutions to possible clients who will likely convert if they have found your business to be reliable.

So What do Startups Need to Work on?

  • Content. More specifically, relevant content. You need to start creating posts and articles that are really engaging and are really providing solutions.
  • Page Speed. Improve your page speed because users really do not have all the time to linger and wait for search results all day.
  • Build Page Authority. Create fresh contents that are reliable and have a good command of language that can direct users on what they need to do.
  • Use Quality Media. High-quality media are very important because a visually appealing site also helps engage readers to continue reading. Images should have a clear connection to what a post is trying to convey.

There are still a lot of techniques that you can use to make sure Organic Search targets your website. Take time to study the trending SEO techniques so you can use them. Generally, it all boils down to how your content helps people get the answers they need.
